Welcome to Hope. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Description of Service

Hope is an AI-powered learning platform that allows users to upload course materials, interact with AI tutoring tools, and work through academic problems using digital workspaces. The platform includes features such as the Hope Workspace (whiteboard and PDF annotation with AI assistance) and In The Zone (focused problem-solving with AI-guided hints).

2. Account Registration

To use Hope, you must create an account using an email address and password or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Hope only for lawful educational purposes. You may not:

  • Upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Use the platform to engage in academic dishonesty or violate your institution's academic integrity policies
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or circumvent the AI tutor to extract direct answers
  • Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
  • Use automated tools to scrape or collect data from the platform

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of all materials you upload to Hope. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and use that content solely for the purpose of providing our services to you. We do not share your uploaded materials with other users.

5. AI-Generated Content

Hope uses artificial intelligence to provide tutoring hints, process documents, and generate responses. AI-generated content is provided for educational guidance only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI responses. You should verify AI-generated information and use your own judgment when applying it to your studies.

6. Availability and Changes

We strive to keep Hope available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

7. Limitation of Liability

Hope is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, academic outcomes, or interruption of service.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the platform in a way that could harm other users or the service. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately, and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
